Baku 2023: Perez Wins Inaugural Sprint Race

Sergio Perez of Red Bull Racing has secured victory in the inaugural sprint race of the 2023 Formula One season at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Mexican driver started from pole position and led every lap to claim the win ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Mercedes' George Russell.
Race Highlights
The 28-lap sprint race was a tense affair, with Perez holding off a strong challenge from Leclerc throughout. The Monegasque driver closed the gap to within a second on several occasions but was unable to find a way past the Red Bull. Russell also kept up the pressure, finishing just over a second behind Leclerc in third place.
The result gives Perez a significant advantage heading into Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Mexican driver will start from pole position, with Leclerc and Russell lining up behind him on the front row.
