Behind a stunning Derrick White put-back just before the buzzer sounded, the Boston Celtics won Game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals and are now just one win away from making history.
With their improbable victory over the Miami Heat, the Celtics became the first team in NBA history to win a playoff series after trailing 3-2 and facing elimination in three consecutive games. They are also just the fourth team in NBA history to win a playoff series after trailing 3-1.
White's game-winning shot was a fitting end to a game that was full of drama and excitement. The Heat had taken a 102-99 lead with just seconds remaining, but White was able to grab the rebound of a missed shot by Jayson Tatum and put it back in the basket before the buzzer sounded.
The Celtics will now have a chance to close out the series and advance to the NBA Finals when they host the Heat in Game 7 on Sunday night.
