The United States has become the top destination for Bangladeshi students seeking higher education, with the number of students studying in the US reaching an all-time high. According to the Bangladeshi Embassy, 13,563 Bangladeshi students chose to study in the US in 2023, a significant increase from previous years.

The increase in Bangladeshi students studying abroad is part of a larger trend of Bangladeshis seeking higher education overseas. In 2022, over 49,151 Bangladeshi students went abroad for study in 58 countries, according to UNESCO data. Popular destinations include Australia, Canada, the UK, the USA, and Malaysia.
