Shannen Doherty, an actress who starred on the popular series Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed, has died at the age of 51 after a nine-year battle with breast cancer. Doherty's death was confirmed by her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, who wrote in a statement that his wife "died peacefully in her sleep" on Tuesday morning.

Doherty began recording episodes of her podcast, "Lets Be Clear," from her home in November 2023 as she received treatment for a recurrence of breast cancer. She is the second major cast member from Beverly Hills 90210 to die young; Luke Perry died in March 2019 due to complications from a stroke.

In June 2023, Doherty announced that the cancer had spread to her brain and was terminal. She shared the news in an emotional video update, saying that she was "trying to accept it" and that she was "trying to learn how to live with it."
