No. 1 Novak Djokovic continued his dominant run in Australia, defeating Alex de Minaur 6-2, 6-1, 6-2 in their United Cup clash on Wednesday. The victory extends Djokovic's unbeaten streak in Australia to 44 matches.
Djokovic started the match strongly, breaking de Minaur's serve in the opening game. The Serbian never looked back, winning the first set in just 33 minutes. He continued his dominance in the second set, breaking de Minaur's serve twice more and winning the set in 27 minutes.
De Minaur, ranked No. 24 in the world, showed some resistance in the third set, but Djokovic was too strong. The Serbian broke de Minaur's serve once more and held on to win the set and the match in 1 hour and 26 minutes.
The win was the perfect way for Djokovic to start his United Cup campaign. He will now face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals on Thursday.
